Chamba / Hadsar

Hadsar is a picturesque village which lies at an altitude of around 2,280 m in the western corner of Himachal Pradesh. Budhil River, a major tributary of the River Ravi, flows through this village. Surrounded by forests of deodar, spruce and silver birch, Hadsar offers magnificent views of Manimahesh Kailash Peak. Kugti, Duggi Caves, Chamba, Dancho, Bharmaur, Mcleodganj, Dharamsala and Holi are located nearby. Accommodation facilities are available at Chamba and Bharmaur.

Hadsar has special significance from several points of view. It is the roadhead, 13 kms from the ancient capital of Chamba state at Brahmaur, on the annual route of the Gaddi shepherds. It is also the starting point for the yatra to Manimahesh Lake and Manimahesh Kailash.

Kugti Wildlife Sanctuary : This small sanctuary lies in the catchment of the Ravi River, and contains patches of good coniferous and Oak forests. A lovely bowl-shaped meadow at Khajjiar, with a lake and a ‘floating’ island, is a popular tourist spot

Manimahesh: Manimahesh is a high altitude lake perched at a height of more than 4000 metre. There is a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is well-known to have picked up some of the most inaccessible spots up in the mountains as His abode.

Bharmaurr: Bharmaur is a beautiful hill station at an altitude of 2195 m in Chamba District, Himachal Pradesh. It was the ancient capital of Chamba till 920. Bharmaur is surrounded by high ranges, and delicious apples are grown here in abundance.
