The
scenic nine hole naldehra golf course, with
its springy turf and crown of deodar
was laid out at the instance of Viceroy
, Lord Curzon .So enamoured was he
by the beauty of the spot , that he
named his youngest daughter Alexandra
Naldehra .(23 kms) .
The rolling greens
of Naldehra in Himachal Pradesh are
par for the
oldest golf course in India. This
is an unusual course, perched at
a height of 2044 metres, strewn with
boulders, trees and little hillocks.
Tall
deodars flank the links making Naldehra
a wonderful sports venue
in the midst of natural beauty. At
the turn of the century, Naldehra
was "discovered" by the
British Viceroy, Lord Curzon who
was fascinated by the deodar forests
and green-carpeted slopes. The
idea of laying a golf course on the
slopes of an enormous glade took
root.

Mashobra (12km): 2148m
Motorable on Shimla - Naldehra road,
surrounded by thick forests and
offers and offers ideal walks. Goddess
Durga temple is worth seeing.
Kufri (2622m): Known
for its ski runs Kufri, 16 Km away, attracts
the largest number of tourists who
come to shimla. It has a backdrop
of peaks covered with snow, Himalayan
National Park and a small zoo. Yak –ride
is added attraction. Along the ridge
shaded by tall trees run a road to
chail, yet another tourist spot in
Solan District.
Fagu (2509m): Quite and peaceful,
22 km away, it is a fine resort
far from the madding crowd. It
has a Rest House and Tourists Bungalow
overlooking the Giri valley.
