Padam Palace Rampur Bushehar
Rampur, the erstwhile capital of the princely state of Bhushur, is a beautiful town situated on the banks of the Sutlej River, on the India-Tibet Road, in Himachal Pradesh. It is 132 km north-east of Shimla, at an altitude of 924 m. Places of tourist interest include the gabled Padam Palace, Dumgir Buddhist Temple, Raghunath Temple and Narsingh Temple. The Lavi Mela, celebrated in late October or early November, is a major attraction and is attended by a large number of people.

Padam Palace, built in 1925, is one of the major attractions of Rampur in Himachal Pradesh.It is housed in a nest-shaped valley on the left bank of the Sutlej River. It spots nice gardens and has exquisite wall paintings adorning its walls. The palace, which exemplifies the taste, style and architecture of the erstwhile hill states, is worth visiting
   
Around Rampur

Dutt Nagar :Dutt Nagar is a quaint village situated 12 km away from Rampur in Himachal Pradesh. This beautiful hamlet is situated at an altitude of 970 m above sea level, on the left bank of Sutlej River. Major point of attraction here an intricately carved temple dedicated to Lord Dattatreya. The village derives its name after this ancient temple.

Nirath : Nirath is a quaint village situated 18 km from Rampur, in Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, attracts large number of tourists.Major point of attraction here is the ancient and unique Sun Temple and Bhimakali Temple dedicated to Goddess Bhimakali.

Nirmand : Nirmand, known as the ‘Kashi of the Himalayas', is the largest and most ancient village, situated in Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh. This beautiful hamlet stands overlooking the Satluj Valley and is about 150 km from Shimla and 17 km from Rampur. Nirmand is famous for its annual Buddi Diwali fair, which falls one month after Diwali and the Bhunda festival, celebrated once in 12 years.

Nogli : Nogli is located in Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh. It lies on National Highway 22 and is 6 km south of Rampur. Major landmark of the place is Nogli Powerhouse.

How to get there


By air:
Shimla's airport is at a distance of 150 kilometers at Jubbarhatti. The Airport is well connected to Chandigarh, Kullu and Delhi. Jagsons Airways offer excellent services and connect Shimla to various parts of the country.

By rail: Kalka, located at a distance of 132 kilometers from Shimla is the nearest railhead. From Delhi you can take a train to reach Kalka. In any case you have to change the train, as there are no direct trains to Shimla.

By road: Rampur is at a distance of around 132 km from Shimla. A fine network of roads connects Shimla to all major cities in India.
