Kinnaur Holiday Package

Kinnaur is one of the main districts of Himachal Pradesh and located on the south-eastern part of the state. Nature showcases an amazing exclusivity in this tough terrain which is why more and more tourists are interested in visiting Kinnaur.
Earlier many high altitude mountain passes here remained close for almost six months. In recent years Kinnaur has become more open to tourism with setting up of infrastructure by the government. History
Myths and legends suggest that Kinnaur was under Magadha Kingdom which was soon followed by Mauryan Empire during the 6th century B.C. The Tibetan influence on Kinnaur came with the rule of Guge Kingdom of Tibet in the 9th and 12th centuries. Later this region was divide into seven parts known as Sat Khund and faced server conflicts until Akbar won it and made it part of Mughal Empire. Through much consideration the present day Kinnaur district was made in 1960.

Weather
Kinnaur lies in the temperate climate zone due to it being located at a high elevation. Winters here are long and generally stretch from October to May. Summer as usual is small and last from June to September. Temperature during summer can drop down to 10C at night and generally stay around 20 C during the day on an average.

Chango
Chango is a tiny hamlet situated at distance of 122 km from Kalpa. Buddhism is mostly followed by people here along with the presence of Hindu deities like Gyalbo, Dabla and Yalsa.

Chitkul
Chitkul is located by the banks of Baspa River and is the highest village of Baspa valley. The three temples dedicated to goddess Mathi is one of the main attractions of this place and was built 500 years ago.

Kalpa
Kalpa is the main village of Kinnaur, located in the Sutlej River valley above Reckong Peo, 110 km from Sarahan. Kalpa witness the unique cultural mix of Hindus and Buddhist living happily together. The view of Kinner Kailash range across the river will leave you completely mesmerised.

Ribba
Ribba is one of the scenic villages of Kinnaur and is nestled between Purbani and Rispa. It is also known as Rirang where the 'ri' means chilgoza and 'rang' means a peak of a mountain in the local dialect.

Khab
Khab village is famous for the confluence of Spiti River and Sutlej River. The ancient monastery of Tashigang Gompa and the peak of Reo Purgil are also located here.

Leo
Leo is nestled on the right bank of Spiti River at a distance of 105 km from Reckong Peo. Apart from the scenic beauty, the temple of Jamato is worth visiting here.

Morang
Located on the left bank of river Satluj is the village of Morang, 39 km away from Kalpa. Flourishing apricots orchards, temples of local deity and scenic beauty make this place worth visiting.

Nako

Nichar

Puh

Wangtu is a small place situated in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is very close to the Indo-China border, and located on the Old Hindustan-Tibet Road.

Sangla
