Among the monsoon festivals one of the most colorful ones is
Minjar. Minjar Fair is of cultural and historical importance
and holds the status of a National Fair. One can get a glimpse
of the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh in this traditional
fair. Belief has it that the people of Chamba worshipped lord
Varuna for a Good maize crop, and that's how this fair originated.2nd
Sunday of Sawan month & culminating on 3rd Sunday July/August

Shravan Ashtami Fair, held in the month of July / August, At ancient
Durga Temples-Chamunda, Naina Devi ji, Bajreshwari and Jawala ji,
in Himachal Pradesh.
It is locally known as Mata-Da-Mela. Large number
of pilgrims visits the temples to seek the blessings of the Goddess
and the Worship of Goddess Durga.

Ladakh Celebrating the 800 Years of Legacy
Long life prayers for His Holiness
Eight hundred years ago in 1207 the Drukpa lineage of the Ultimate
Meaning’ was
founded by Tsanga Gyare, the 1st Gyalwang Drukpa. Today, all His Holiness’ students
have a connection with Him and the lineage. In order to celebrate this
anniversary, His Holiness wishes that commemoration
ceremonies take place around the world over the next ten years.For
2007, it is the turn of the Ladakhi Drukpa community, especially those
from Hemis, who are preparing to celebrate the event, together with
a great Long Life Ceremony for His Holiness.
