MAY: May gushes
In with a whole series of river rafting festivals and water
sports Regattas, through-out the state. Focused
around the goddess Hadimba Devi, Kullu celebrates the Dhoongri
fair. Dharamsala's (Kangra) summer festival and the programmes
organised by the Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts, lift
their curtains.

Sipi Fair : This
fair is held every year in Sihpur below Mashobra on the 1st
of Jaistha(may) in honour of Sip Devta. It is very old fair
and the Rana of Koti used to be the chief visitor. Thousands
of people of the surrounding areas participate in the fair.
A goat is slaughtered in honour of the deity. Archery game
is played besides several cultural programmes, variety shows,
'Karyala', Performance of the jugglers, magicians and acrobats
provide additional entertainment to the spectators

The Bhimakali Temple, reputed to be at least 800 years old,

Along the River Pabbar, 104 km from Shimla, is the temple dedicated
to Durga and Shiva. The gods are said to have fought a pitched
battle at this spot. Famous for ancient temple of Mata Hateshwari
in the midst of paddy fields on the right bank of the Pabbar
River.

“Ma
Bhagwati Tara Devi” temple is located on Tarav Parvat
in the western side of Shimla Town about 15 Km from Shimla
situated by the side of Kalka- Shimla National Highway
near Shoghi. The road meandering uphill through the sweet
smelling
pine forests and lush green meadows with the cool gentle
breeze touching one softly infusing a freshness and vigor
in the devotees, pilgrims and tourists visiting this holy

Itinerary: |
Day 1 |
Board your
Volvo from Delhi to reach Shimla and Check into your hotel.
After freshening
up get ready to pay a visit to the temple of the most famous
and respected goddess of the region – Goddess Taradevi.
Temple. You can prefer to take the cab to reach the Temple
at the height of 1851 m from Sea level or Hike uphill. The
evening is at leisure to enjoy at the Mall. Overnight at
your hotel. |
Day
2 |
After taking your breakfast you take the Himachalhotels.in
cab and drive by the Satlej River in to the beautiful and calm
Pabbar Valley. Check in to the Giri Ganga Resort, Khara Patthar,
2673 m. Rest of the evening at leisure |
Day
3 |
After taking your breakfast at the hotel,
take the cab to pay a visit to Goddess Hateshwari, 25 Kms from
Khara Patthar at the Hatkoti temple, 1400 m. After your visit
to the temple, drive up to Sarahan, with the Sutlej river flowing
by the road. This is the best drive you can expect. Overnight
at Hotel Srikhand, very close to the Bhimakali Temple in Sarahan.

Day
4 |
After your breakfast, pay your regards to
the Goddess Bhimakali. Leave for Shimla after visiting the
temple. Take your lunch on the way to Shimla. Reach Shimla
in the evening and board your Volvo for Delhi. |
